This past weekend my Advanced Petrology class took a field trip up to Ely Minnesota. Big Rock Exploration showed us around some turbidite, BIF, and pillow basalt outcrops. It was a lot of fun to revisit some of these sites I had seen during my undergraduate field trips.
It was in the 30s and snowing most of the trip, but as we kept saying “it could always be worse”. The weather felt like home for me.
