This week I started running my very first geodynamic models with multiple compositions!! I used a buoyancy difference of 0.8 which pretty much means the red material is more dense than the blue material. The models I am running start with a temperature gradient. In order to initiate convection, the density difference between the two materials needs to be kinda large for the materials to not completely mix together right away.
